Environmental Due Diligence & Business Transaction
Environmental due diligence is a key element in corporate transactions. Our practice covers the representation of clients in a variety of projects, assisting them in identifying and allocating environmental risks and liabilities. We have successfully advised clients on carbon-trading transactions under the Kyoto Protocol, having developed a pioneer practice group focused on Global Climate Change.
We have assisted clients in complying with environmental legislation, on the operation of ports and terminals, vessels, FPSO and FSO units etc.
Our work includes:
(a) review of environmental risks and liabilities arising from the operation of oil & gas fields and from the supply of offshore goods and services;
(b) client representation before environmental agencies on licensing, public hearings and other administrative procedures;
(c) assistance in environmental impact assessments (EIA/RIMA);
(d) legal analysis of environmental aspects of industrial activities in protected areas; and
(e) assistance in negotiations with governmental and non-profit organizations
